scrapbooking: the vampire edition.

if you know what is comes out in 12 days, then this post is for you!

waaay back in 2008 i was COMPLETELY obsessed with twilight.

believe it or not, i'm not quite as obsessed now as i was then, although i still enjoy it.

it's something that my scrapbooking friends & i bonded over.

twilight was my introduction into the world of vampire smut, ehem.. romance.

and the first books i had read in the three years since giving birth to the dude.

so. what do scrapbookers do?

we document.

report. relive & retell our stories.

and i did A LOT of twilight scrapbooking in 2008.

i thought it only appropriate to share some with you as we count down to the beginning of the 'end'!

(that'd be obsessive cullen disorder.... :)

(don't the movies have THE best soundtracks?!)

this next one would be about my vampire obsession altogether.

i don't think i've ever stuck so many pictures down on one page.

ever.

and because no 'vampire' post is complete with out eric northman...
i've included these pages as well :)
i felt like that picture of eric in sookies dream was just too darn small in the above layout...

i scrapped it again :)

because there is NO SUCH THING  as too much eric.

EVER.

the girls & i have this insane obsession with the line 'oh sexxxxyyy girlfriend!' from sixteen candles.

we chant long duck dong & other brat pack quotes non-stop.

(much to the dismay & confusion of some of our OLDER scrap-mates)

could have something to do with the late night crazies & excessive starbucks...

so one night..

probably a LATE night that included me donning an eye patch, or drawing something on my face...

i put together this gem of a page... :)

we are all about the more the merrier.

(although if forced i'd throw the others over for mr. northman in a heartbeat!!)

did you catch the knock to twilight in the first vampire diaries episode way back when?

are you a midnight watcher?

i saw twilight 7 times. 4 within the first 3 days.

i saw new moon twice.

and eclipse once.

(all in the theater of course)

i've only been to one midnight viewing.

and i can't wait for november 18th to roll around! :)

scrapbooking.

sometimes it feels good to just sit down and scrap.

it's therapy for me.

i've been trying my best to work on getting older pictures out & down on paper with the stories.

(believe it or not... this is the dude... circa 2004)

(this is one of my first photos with my dslr. it's printed on metallic paper, which this photo just doesn't do justice to!)

i'm brewing up something..

well, new for me.

a new opportunity.

i'm super excited about.

scrapbooking.

i don't know what's got into me the last few days..

suddenly, it just hit me that there was NOTHING stopping me from being crafty.

well, nothing besides endless time surfing pinterest.

pinterest is like.. well it's like crafters crack.

yes. i just said a website was a drug.

anyone on pinterest gonna argue with me?

ya. didn't think so.

(and if you do.. well then you are in denial)

before you know it you've spent an hour pinning away.

i've never done drugs..

but i'm thinking it starts out the same way..

trying to figure out what it's all about..

it starts small & innocent..

and then before you know it your baby is climbing up the couch like a monkey while he chomps on cheerios he found UNDER it from God knows when because you haven't had cheerios in the house in over a month.

you laugh.. but i think you know what i'm talking about..

don't you?

it's okay.

(please don't send me hate mail. drugs are bad, yes. sense of humor is good, yes :)

once i got my butt off the computer i had the urge to scrapbook.

because years ago, i used to do that on a regular basis.

well. a semi-regular basis.

ok.

so monthly. i scrapbooked monthly.

i haven't scrapbooked in.. 6 months.

bad.

bad because i miss it.. not because i have this crazy idea that i'll ever be caught up.

(ha! who are these 'caught up' people, show me. 'cause they ain't livin' right!)

bla bla.

so here they are. :)

you know what feels good?

buying nothing new.

you know what else?

loving it all, despite the lack of 'new' supplies.

everything flows much better when i'm true to my own style.

how 'bout you?

i'm a doodler & a lover of masking tape.

it's not for everyone.

and i free-form journal.

just draw some lines.. start writing.
it's not pre-thought out.

if i need more lines, i draw them.

simple. as. that.

life: shenanigans

i'm back (obviously) from my weekend retreat..

refreshed & relaxed..

the hubs survived the day yesterday with the boys..

no catastrophe's or melt downs.

this is a very good thing.

i would show you pictures...

if i.. uh... actually did anything other than socialize.

but i hardly did anything other than socialize.

and i'm okay with that.

i haven't seen these girlies since january & it was nice to catch up..

but remember when i said we stay up late & get a little crazy?!

well.. it didn't take until the wee hours of the night for us to lose it..

nita & mindy & i were laughing very early yesterday at some sound clips from 'sixteen candles'

nothing like the donger saying 'no more yanky my wanky the donger needs food' to get you rolling..

although i think it actually started with mindy exclaiming
'ohhhh sseeexxxxxyyy boyyfriend!' in her best long duck dong voice..

yep. i'm pinning the whole thing on her.

but then my friend steph's teenage son introduced us to a you tube video & it was all over.

let's just say if you are okay with some not so pg humor you can search 'no no square song' on you tube.

no video, no profanity... just the words.

i'm not gonna lie.. i laughed like crazy.

and i may or may not have done a crazy little dance to accompany my singing of the song...

then today her son had me look up this video..

and i'm sorry but it's just too dang funny not to share.

at least in my opinion, which doesn't count for much..

enjoy.. i'm going to go try not to ninje chop the dog.
back tomorrow with something resembling a craft hopefully.

ps. apparently this guy has been on jerry springer. i'm sorta sad that my blog now has a connection to jerry springer. actually more like embarassed. oh well. first jerry.. then maybe oprah? ya right.

life: late night scrapbooking makes me do crazy things.

this is what happens to me when i am free from mama & wife duties.

i get a little crazy.

mix it up with the late night giggles, scrapbooking & some of the best girlfriends anyone can ask for..

& i do some stupid stuff for a laugh.

take this particular night, about 2 years ago.

it was probably 1 or 2 am.

there were about 40 of us scrapbooking at a weekend retreat. 

at my table a few of my good friends & i got the giggles.

probably started with a late night trip to steak & shake for cheese fries..

where my friend nita likely almost killed us..

(she ah... kinda drives like a cullen. for real!)

i'm pretty sure there was some talk about definitions on urban dictionary..

& some how i ended up using a rubber stamp to give myself a mustache..

which was followed by making an eye patch out of scrap paper & some tulle.

& talking like a pirate.

no joke.

i'm a real party animal.

but if the worst my husband has to worry about is me accidentally stamping my face with permanent ink while i'm away from my family..

i think we are doing pretty good.

who needs bar hopping & booze when you've got good friends & steak & shake fries?

i'm getting some much needed me-time this weekend..

thanks to my AWESOME WONDERFUL AMAZING husband..

who is coming home after work & letting me take off.

(he's a keeper for other reasons too though!)

there is scrapping & likely some late night shenanigans in my very near future!

i can't wait :)

scrapbooking: more pages

i pretty much almost had heart failure yesterday when i tried to download pictures of my pages off my camera yesterday (i don't like the way the scanner colors everything). my laptop wasn't recognizing my USB cord. ISN'T recognizing it.

i guess it's a good thing we now have THREE computers in our house. yes, three. santa & dada conspired against me to leave a third on christmas morning.

so after panic & fear took hold of me, i restarted my computer & then leapt over to the hubs pc to try & download everything before some other piece of technology decided to revolt. (ie: my memory card)

once i got all that settled i had just enough time to get a few of my pages blogged & the babe woke up. (he was really needy yesterday, surprised i got anything accomplished)

remember what i said about technology revolting? ya. stupid blogger. the last four pages won't upload.

scrapbook pages.

i've been trying to get some of the scrapbook pages i did this weekend up for the last two days.

BUT...

since i left my three boys at home by themselves this weekend to go to the scrapbooking retreat..

(you know the next part..)

it's taken me just a little bit to get the house back to some normal state of disaster

so here they are.

i have a few more i'm going to post..

but right now i have a little one hollering at me for lunch!
